Wholesale Palms & Cycad Seeds - Cairns, Australia

Rosebud Farm is a specialist Australian Seed Wholesaler providing an unparalleled range of rare, exotic and native palm and cycad seeds, seedlings and landscape plants. This is a wholesale nursery for other wholesale nurseries; it is not a retail operation.

This unique farm prides itself on its organic and plant nutrition practices, and is located on a 160 acre property which is approximately five minutes west of Kuranda ‘The Village in the Rainforest’ on the Cairns Highlands, in Queensland, Australia.

Established in 1971, Rosebud Farm boasts over three decades experience in importing rare and exotic seeds from an extensive range of international contacts. Business activities are not limited to seed supply, Rosebud Farm also offers an extensive array of seedlings and landscape plants that are available for sale.

Rosebud Farm prides itself on its products and services and can arrange transport and freight to any destination in the region, the country and the world.

Quality Seeds for Australia and International

Rosebud Farm's business practices can be divided into three categories.

  1. To research and import the highest quality seeds, in bulk, from a range of domestic and international seed suppliers. To on-sell these seeds to other wholesale nurseries.
  2. To produce and sell quality seedlings for and to wholesale nurseries and landscapers.
  3. To find new species and grow as tube stock in and at wholesale quantities and prices.

One of Rosebud Farm's business aims is to introduce new plants to Australia. The farm has over three decades experience in sourcing and importing the highest quality seed stock from all over the world. Rosebud Farm has an enviable network of international contacts, and if we don't already stock what you are looking for, then I'm sure we can get it!

Plant Nutrition and Diversification

Rosebud Farm is as close as you can get to being an organic nursery.

Plant nutrition is considered a critical factor in Rosebud Farm's germination and propagation process. In fact, the nursery uses its own, specially developed fertilizer mix which is applied under a carefully monitored and balanced fertilizer regime. The end result is the hardiest, healthiest plants offering more natural leaf growth and appearance.

Rosebud Farm operates 365 days a year and is constantly evolving and diversifying its product mix. The latest addition to the farm's portfolio includes an interesting array of drought resilient plants. These 'new' species are proving popular with landscapers and are available for sale right now.

Rosebud Farm is also happy to work with you to satisfy your specific requirements, be it for seeds, seedlings or landscape plants. For more information, please contact us today on , or phone (07) 4093 0233.

To our valued customers,

We would like to firstly introduce ourselves as Nate and Digby Trapnell of Rosebud Farm Nursery, Kuranda Far North Queensland.

It is with sadness in our hearts that we are writing to inform you all of the passing of our father, Richard Watkins Trapnell, founder and owner operator of Rosebud Farm Nursery. Rich passed due to a very cruel and short battle with Cancer on the 6th June this year.

We would like to inform you all that our current plans are to continue operations at Rosebud farm. We have a great team of employees with over 50 years of experience between them and we are more than confident in our ability to carry on providing the quality product, competitive prices and personal service that you all are accustomed to when dealing with us.

We do have some changes in mind regarding modernising our operations, building customer relations and as our father always did develop new ways of providing an even better product. None of these will interfere with the services we are currently providing and should only be seen as a way for us to become even better at what we do.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has already expressed their condolences to our family, your wishes are very much appreciated.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to working together for many years to come.

Nate and Digby Trapnell
